HDDs in the 2.5" form factor are getting more and more popular as their storage capacity is growing. It is a logical consequence to employ them in servers. That‘s why ICY BOX offers a backplane that fits into a 2x 5.25" bay and holds 8x 2.5" SATA/SAS HDDs or SSDs. The height of the HDDs may even be 15 mm, for greatest storage capacity.

Eight times a week!

Eight 2.5" HDDs or SSDs fit into this enclosure and can be installed in 2x 5.25" bay in a PC, server or similar device. The enclosure is HotSwap capable, so the hard disks can be replaced without having to remove the enclosure.

Better safe than sorry

The enclosure is made entirely of metal and the trays are provided with a lock that prevents accidental opening and unauthorized access. An LED also indicates operation and disk access for each storage medium.

When it’s hot

The aluminum dissipates heat very well and the cooling of the drives during heavy operation is ensured by two 50 mm fans on the back. An alarm warns of fan failure.
